The Peace Museum Paris (www.peacemuseumparis.com) is opening on November 1, 2026 in the center of Paris, is a unique cultural, educational, and social hub holistic experience where art, education, community engagement and the specialty café culture of Paris meet under one mission: to make peace visible, tangible, and accessible in everyday life. The Peace Museum concept and model in Paris will also capture the activities and shared values of what has been implemented in over 30 other Peace Museum locations globally. Our aim is to become Europe's leading community hub dedicated to peace through education, culture, and daily lifestyle.
Role Title
The internship position is titled Peace Museum Paris Coordinator. The intern will report directly to the President, Tom Wilscam, and work closely with members of the Board of Directors on select projects.
Time Commitment
This is a part-time internship, requiring a minimum commitment of 10–15 hours per week over a 2-to-4 month period, starting immediately. Work will be conducted through a hybrid format, combining time in the Peace Museum office in the 75005, with remote work from home some days.
Compensation
Peace Museum Paris is a non-profit association (Association Loi 1901). This internship is offered on a volunteer basis and is unpaid. However, there is an option to interview for a paid position when the Peace Museum is open on November 1st. All reasonable expenses related to the internship will be reimbursed, including local transportation (Navigo pass or Vélib) and occasional meals in the office.
Requirements
The intern will be measured on commitment, reliability, initiative and leadership. Strong skills in online research, organization, multi-tasking, problem solving, and general social media posting skills. The intern must speak French and English and must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the office in the 75005 of Paris. Based on organizational needs and individual performance, the intern may be considered for a paid staff position upon the official opening of Peace Museum Paris.
Responsibilities (in order of priority)
- Assist with preparations related to the opening of the Peace Museum space, exhibitions/programming
- Oversee the purchase and production of retail products produced overseas.
- Participate in brainstorming and strategy discussions related to programs, offerings and messaging
- Bring fresh perspectives and ideas to help make peace visible, tangible, and accessible in everyday life.
- Help identify and engage potential partners, including cultural institutions, universities, NGOs, artists, educators, and community organizations and help with Introductory communications
- Assist social media and digital communication efforts to raise awareness of the Peace Museum Paris mission and launch.
- Support planning for upcoming community events, workshops, and educational activities.
- Help ensure consistent messaging aligned with the museum's values and vision.
